*COLLEGE EXPLORATION & MORE!: A 50-minute period for all parents to be introduced to, and visit with, representatives from three of our finest area colleges: Lewis and Clark Community College, SIUE School of Engineering, and St. Louis Community College. A sheet with helpful 'talking points' will be available in your information folder. The Mobile Lab and Robotics Exhibit will be available during this period (please note the Lab times/12 people max)

**TEACHERS' SPECIAL: (two-part program) "Setting Up a School-Based GEMS Program": Theresa O'Connor, Alton Middle School. This teacher goes the extra mile for her students. Learn about her process, her ideas, her passion. "Gender Stereotypes in the Media"...Associate Prof. Laurie Puchner, SIUE shares highlights of her grant proposal which focuses on the influence of media on 7th grade boys and girls and how these relate to girls' entry into STEM fields.( Completion of the teachers' special and two of the workshops chosen below will entitle each teacher to 5 CPDU credits...please pick up the forms before you leave the room)

    A two-part presentation by Renee Bauer, Mental Health Counselor, Lewis and Clark Community College, and Marcy Jacobs, Client Services Coordinator, Oasis Women's Center

    2. Careers in Science

    Dr. Sue Czerwinski, Dean of Math, Science, & Technology at Lewis and Clark Community College.

    3. Extracting Fish DNA

    Dr. Kasey Sindel, St. Louis Community College (Mobile Lab Activities for Adults), followed by Lego Robotics Exhibit, performed by Girl Scouts

    4. Helping Your Girl with Mid-Level Math

    Dr. Ann Taylor, Co-Director, Piasa Writing Project, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

    5. I Don't Want to Do My Homework Because....
